Clarity by Kim Harrington
Release Date: March 1, 2011
Hardcover: 256 Pages
Clarity “Clare” Fern sees things. Things no one else can see. Things like stolen kisses and long-buried secrets. All she has to do is touch an object and the visions come to her. It’s a gift.
And a curse.
When a teenage girl is found murdered, Clare’s ex-boyfriend wants her to help solve the case — but Clare is still furious at the cheating jerk. Then Clare’s brother — who has supernatural gifts of his own — becomes the prime suspect, and Clare can no longer look away. Teaming up with Gabriel, the smoldering son of the new detective, Clare must venture into the depths of fear, revenge, and lust in order to track the killer. But will her sight fail her just when she needs it most?
I love, LOVE Clarity! If you like a good mystery, Clarity is your kind of book! It’s my new favorite book!
Clare (Clarity) Fern and her family each as a different ability. Clare is a psychic, her brother talks to the dead, and her mother is telepathic. With these abilities, the Fern family opens a business. Until one day, a neighbor bursts through the doors and announced that someone is dead. The mayor asked Clare to be involved to help solve the murder with her ability.
I really enjoy Clare’s characters. She isn’t afraid to be herself even though everyone else around her thinks she and her family are freaks. I think she is really good at what she does. However, sometimes you wished you wouldn’t have her ability (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you’ve read it).
Clare works with the detective’s son on this case to solve the murder. What she finds takes and leads her to different ends until she reaches the right end. At that point, all the truth that was hidden comes to the surface for Clare. It is then when the murder mystery ends.
The murderer was very unexpected and I wouldn’t have suspected him/her at all. I didn’t like who the person was, but I wouldn’t have thought he/she would be the killer. Talk about the twists and turns you have to get through to know who the real killer is!
The author does a great job explaining each character’s roles. The story itself is very well developed. You won’t be lost in this book. You’re only going to beg for more!
Clarity is a mystery book with a twist! It keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to solve the mystery!
